The production of organic kiwi fruit requires all the inputs satisfy the organic standard, thereby the kiwi fruit is real organic, safety and healthy fruit. Specific management program will be as follows:

1. Dormant period (January to February)

Apply lime sulfur and azadirachta oil 800-1000 times solution for cleaning the plantation immediately after trimming and removal of branches thereof, to timely kill the herbinating pest eggs and pathogens.

2. Embryonic period (March)

After earth warms up and when the apical buds turning green, apply azadirachta oil 800-1000 times solution for irrigation around the root to prevent soil pests such as meloidogyne spp. and grubs; in order to improve the soil condition around root and to facilitate absorption of nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium and other nutrients, apply Yizhisheng compound microbial agent 300-500 times solution for root irrigation.

3. Leaf expansion and flowering period (April)

During leaf expansion period, the smaller green leaf hopper and aphid come to flourish, for curing them apply 0.3% azadirachtin emulsifiable concentrate 600-800 times solution once per 7-10 days; before flowering of kiwi fruit, apply Cu(OH)2 to prevent gray mold and blossom blight, or otherwise the disease will cause massive flowers and fruits rotten, however the chemical should not be mixed with azadirachtin. The number of application varies upon how serious the pests and diseases are.

4. Fruit rapid growing period (May)

In order to meet the nutrient demand as well as preventing and curing meloidogyne spp. during fruit rapid growing period, Gold Azadirachta organic fertilizer or Yizhisheng biological organic fertilizer (functional microbial) will be applied for 200-300kg/mu followed by trenching a 30cm wide * 30cm deep circular ditch around external of the tree crown projection or 1 meter from tree trunk, and then recover the soil and watering; scale insects are occurred in early May, which requires using mineral oil for preventing and curing; for mites apply 0.3% azadirachtin emulsifiable concentrate 600-800 times solution, and for olethreutids apply celangulin for curing; bacillus subtilis or trichoderma or trichoderma harzianum can be timely applied to prevent and cure gray mold, and for colletotrichum gloeosporioides use Cu(OH)2 or bordeaux mixture for curing, or otherwise it may cause fruit rotten so as to fruit drop. The number of application varies upon how serious the pests and diseases are.

5. Slow fruit developing period (June to July)

The prevention and curing of pests and diseases shall be the same as the period of May; 100 billion spores/g bacillus subtilis water dispersible powder can be used for preventing gray mold, and Cu(OH)2 or deacetylated chitin can be used for preventing brown spot. In the case of gray molds or brown spots, use 100 billion spores/g bacillus subtilis water dispersible powder or Cu(OH)2 for curing or otherwise it will cause early leave fallen. The number of application varies upon how serious the pests and diseases are.

6. Fruit quality improving period (August)

In late August spodoptera litura comes serious, for curing the disease and pests a nuclear polyhedrosis virus of spodoptera litura and 0.3% azadirachtin emulsifiable concentrate 600-800 times solution will be used. After four-instar of spodoptera litura, the pest came into gluttony stage, which shall be timely killed or otherwise the leaves of kiwi fruit will be eaten up; the prevention and curing of pests and diseases is the same as the period of June and July. The number of application varies upon how serious the pests and diseases are.

7. Harvesting period (late September to November)

The prevention and curing of the pests and diseases is the same as the period of August. It is suggested to apply fertilizers in Autumn as follows: for young trees apply biological fertilizers 5-8kg per one tree; for adult trees at full fruit period, apply Yizhisheng biological organic fertilizer (functional microbial) for 8-12kg per tree followed by trenching a 30-40cm wide * 30-40cm deep circular ditch around external of the tree crown projection or 1 meter from tree trunk, and then recover the soil and watering; after harvesting, timely apply biological fertilizer to nourish trees thus laying the foundation of further high yield.
